Townsite-Wide Water Shutoff — July 22, 2026

Water service to the entire Tyrone townsite will be temporarily shut off on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from approximately 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

As part of the water-line replacement project, the construction crew needs to cross an existing water main. The main must be shut off so this work can be completed safely.

Residents should store enough water beforehand for drinking and other essential needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as this important project continues.

Why must the entire townsite be shut off?

  • One of the primary reasons TWWA is undertaking the approximately $6.9 million water-system replacement project is that the existing system cannot reliably isolate water service to individual areas. More than 90% of the townsite’s water valves are inoperable because of longstanding maintenance issues. Consequently, even a localized repair may require shutting off water service to the entire townsite.
  • The replacement project will allow TWWA to isolate smaller areas during future repairs, significantly reducing the number of residents affected by a shutdown.
